Instafriday

Whew - it's been a crazy week!  Linking up with Instafriday at Liferearranged again!

I started things off by downsizing from a minivan to a wagon - hurrah!  We bought the minivan 5 years ago and it's really never been a car that I enjoyed driving.  We only have 2 kids and now that they are older and we don't have to lug our entire house with us when we go anywhere, a wagon seemed to be the way to go.  The hubs and I are into fast car, so we got a speedy wagon that still has tons of space for long trips and Costco runs.  Woot!

One of my favorite movies of all time is Grease...I found this karaoke game for the Wii and am still kicking myself for not buying it.

Super blurry picture mid-run.

We decorated some eggs for Easter.  My littlest made an egg rock band, complete with a stage.  So fun!

This is where I've been spening most of my time - with my trusty sewing machine and serger.  20+ hours of sewing between my shop and a friend's shop.

Here are two little doll dresses that I had as a custom order - I am in love with this fabric!!

My youngest daughter goes to tap once a week, and her sister wisely used that time to get her homework done.  I love her serious face :)

If you have ever been to the Pacific Northwest, you know that sunshine in March is a rare thing - but the weather has been spectacular this week!  Here's the view from my sunroof.  Gotta get that vitamin D any way I can!

Remember, you can follow me on Instagram - I'm azbarsotti.  Have a great weekend!

Instafriday

Happy Friday!!

This week, I'm going to link up my phone pictures with liferearranged's Instafriday.  I only recently joined Instagram and am hooked on spying on friends, fellow bloggers, and of course, famous people.  Plus, even though my husband laughs at me, I love the filters and stuff.  I'm a weirdo.  If you want to follow along, I'm azbarsotti on Instagram.

Here's a peek at my week in pictures:

We watched the Goonies as a family for the first time...the big girl was scared "in a good way."  Her little sister lost interest after she realized that there were no fairies or princesses in the story.  But this girl is really getting into adventure stories.

Taco night means LOTS of hot sauces at our house.  Yes, I put sriracha on everything.  Yum.

A rare view of the sun (surrounded by blue sky!) in Seattle.

One of the perks of having a husband who works in the display calibration industry is that we always have fun new gadgets to play with.  New 3D glasses and Wreck it Ralph = happy little girl.

Remember that washcloth pattern I loved last week?  Well, I casted one on and it's a really fun, easy pattern.  Loving it in this red color!  I'll post a picture next week when it's all finished :)

I got to visit my nephews this week and being that I am super hero fan, had to snap a picture of my oldest nephew's awesome shoes.  I want some in my size!!

I am not only a shop owner and blogger, but also a Girl Scout leader.  We just finished our cookie season and had a few boxes of Trefoils left.  These shortbread cookies are great in banana pudding, so that's exactly what my tiny baking assistant and I made.  She loves to bake, and made nearly the whole recipe by herself!

Five Favorites Friday

TGIF!

Today, I'm going to let you get to know me a little better by sharing 5 of my favorite things.

1.

This adorable foldover clutch from The Pleated Poppy.  Have you stopped by her shop and blog yet?  Tons of cute things!  I love the gold leather accents on this clutch.  It would be great for spring!  Get it here.

Coach Poppy Perfume...love this scent!  Every time I wear it, I get at least 3 people asking me what scent it is.  It's light and floral, but not cloyingly sweet.  Definitely a great scent for spring and summer.  Here's hoping the peskies get me some for Mother's Day!

3.

I love to knit quick projects and these raindrop washcloths are adorable!  I love the idea of making a rainbow variety of them.  This is a free pattern too!  If you knit, you can find me on ravelry here.

Have you heard of Project Life by Becky Higgins?  It's a new way of memory keeping that breaks away from traditional scrapbooking but still keeps the fun paper and embellishments.  I received the core kit in Cherry from my inlaws for Christmas and have been having a great time filling my book every week with pictures and journaling cards.  If you are interested in getting started with Project Life, I also recommend checking out Ali Edwards' blog - she and her assistant are both doing it this year and it's been fun to see how two people in two stages of life are going about recording their time.  You can buy all of the kits, binders, and page protectors here.

Ok, seriously, how adorable is this bunny!  Her name is Maggie and she's a pattern from the fabulous Alicia Paulson.  You can order the pattern from her store, Posie.  I'm not sure if I will have enough time to whip two of these up for my peskies, but you can bet two will be made soon!

Getting Started

Hello!

I'm Ayelet, owner of The Graceful Rose Etsy shop.  I've started this blog for two reasons - first, to let people know what's going on with the shop, and second, because a lot of people have told me they miss my posting at my old blog, Eat, Play, Sleep.  I don't think that this blog will so much be about what's going on in our family, as much as what I'm doing craft and sewing wise.  Of course, if you followed the old blog, you know that I love to cook and bake, so expect a recipe or twelve here as well!

Is there anything you'd like to see here on the blog or in the shop?  Think about it, and comment here, or on the Facebook page.
